Bleistein is from Chicago, and thus, like Burbank, an American. Chicago at the beginning of the century was a prosperous trade-city and Americans were in fact a minority group - in 1903 the city's population consisted of several racial groups, the largest of which were the Germans, with 600.000, therewith topping the Americans, who had 350.000 residents.
