Pound

Eliot dedicates this poem to Pound not only because he helped give the poem shape, but because Pound has at the time of publication of The Waste Land, 1922, been a tremendous friend and teacher to Eliot for 10 years. They discussed poetry together frequently and their poems give evidence of a mutual influence. Pound was a key figure in the Modernist movement and at the heart of several sub-movements, such as Vorticism and Imagism.
